Perps Guide

Below I've listed all the various violent perps on Morada and what areas of the island they can be found in. All perps teach weapon/unarmed and evasion or acrobatics skills, depending on your STANCE.

STANCE EVASION teaches the Evasion skill, while STANCE ROLL teaches the Acrobatics skill.

Paranormal perps are those creatures such as Miners and Spirit Stalkers, which also teach the ESP and Occult Studies skills.

The "Teaches To" category only applies to the mundane combat skills, such as Firearms or Evasion, and not the Paranormal Arts (ESP and Occult Studies). However, I suggest that you use the "Teaches To" category as a guide to determine if you are strong enough in your Paranormal skills to survive the paranormal attacks of the higher level paranormal perps.

Some paranormal perps can only be hit with weapons that have had the FOCUS <weapon> Humanities ability placed on them. Also, you can throw holy water at paranormal perps, but it only stuns them and doesn't do damage.

Note from Zac: It is a very common misconception on Morada that Thugs are the perps which come immediately after Brawlers. As you'll see in the below chart however, this is not the case. While you may be able to handle Thugs after finishing up with Brawlers, if you are the type who prefers to be cautious, you should instead move on to Ruffians and then to Rogue Brawlers before tackling the Thugs. Another common misconception is that Stalkers come immediately after Henchmen. Again, you may be able to handle them, but if you find yourself getting beat up a bit too much, then you should instead hunt Lawbreakers in preparation for the stalkers.

Also, when you do move on to Stalkers and eventually Nightblades, you will want to make sure to pick up a bottle or two of eye drops at the Gizmogoria Gadget Shop in the Emporium. This is due to the fact that Stalkers and Nightblades employ a special attack in which they throw a handful of dust into your eyes that will make it harder to see. It is possible to avoid this attack, but you will occasionally fail to avoid it, at which point it's good to be prepared.

Another thing is that when you're hunting Nightblades, as well as Rebels, you will notice that they have another special attack which messes up your roundtime. So things that usually take say 6 seconds will suddenly take 11 seconds. Again this can be avoided by evading or rolling away from the attack, however, unlike the dust attack, there is no quick fix for this one. You just have to grin and deal with it while you wait for your roundtime to return to normal, all the while hoping they don't use this attack on you a second time, even though they will no matter how much you hope they won't.
